Yes, you read that right. I’ve been experimenting with this awesome superfood for the past while and am happy to report that it makes a delicious frozen treat! Try it out:
- ½ cup cultured coconut milk (you can find this in any grocery store, right next to the yogurt and cottage cheese), or plain yogurt (or vanilla, or coconut)
- 1 banana
- 1 cup kale (or spinach)
- heaping teaspoon of moringa powder
- teaspoon of vanilla protein powder
- ¼ cup cream, milk, or water (if you’re going dairy free)
In a blender or food processor (I use a Magic Bullet), blend everything together until very smooth. Pour it into ice cube trays (or any container that will allow it to freeze easily) and throw it into the freezer. Once completely frozen (I’m always really impatient, wanting to eat it right away), blend the smoothie cubes until it’s an ice cream consistency. Enjoy! (ooh, I also like to grate some raw cacao on top before serving it) Delish!!
Moringa is one of the most nutrient-dense plant foods on earth. Vitamins A-K, 18 amino acids, over 40 antioxidants, and over 30 anti-inflammatory compounds add up to a substantial 90+ nutrients from a single source.
